Professor From Westchester Accused Of Inappropriately Touching Child

A 47-year-old college professor who lives in Northern Westchester has been accused of inappropriately touching a child.

Abul Hasanat Alamgir of Chappaqua was arrested last week after he allegedly touched a child in Texas. He's been charged with indecency with a child by contact, a felony, the Bexar County District Attorney's Office said. He was released on $75,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court in January.

Alamgir is an associate professor of public health at New York Medical College in Valhalla, where he has been he placed on administrative leave.

He is scheduled to appear in court in January.
